The Botswana Gambling Authority is taking significant steps to educate the public on responsible gambling practices and ensure a safe environment for all participants. As part of its commitment, the Authority emphasizes the importance of raising awareness about the risks associated with gambling and providing essential resources for individuals in need of assistance.

At the upcoming Botswana Consumer Fair 2024, held at the Botswana Conference and Exhibition Center / Fairgrounds in Gaborone from Monday, August 26th to Sunday, September 1st, 2024, attendees are invited to visit the Gambling Authority's stall to gain insights into responsible gambling practices and learn about forthcoming licensing opportunities.

Furthermore, visitors to the Xere Cultural Festival, a vibrant celebration of Basarwa Cultural Heritage, can also access information and support at the Authority's stall.

A major initiative includes the launch of self-help portals designed to offer valuable information and support for those facing gambling addiction. The Responsible Gambling Self-help Portal is available for anyone seeking assistance.

The Botswana Gambling Authority is the regulatory body responsible for overseeing the gambling industry in Botswana. Established to ensure a safe and responsible gaming environment, the Authority plays a crucial role in promoting public awareness about the risks associated with gambling and providing resources for individuals seeking help.

The Botswana Gambling Authority's key functions encompass granting various licenses for gambling operations, monitoring compliance with legislation, promoting responsible gambling through public education and resources, and providing support services, including helplines and counseling, for individuals facing gambling addiction.
