Botswana Gambling Authority grants licenses for limited payout machines

The Gambling Authority of Botswana has awarded several gambling establishment licenses for limited payout machines (LPMs) across the country. The decision was made at the Board's sitting on August 23, 2024, in accordance with Section 37 of the Gambling Act No. 7 of 2012.

The Gambling Authority has issued Route Operator Licences to two companies for operating gambling establishments with limited payout machines. VPB Gaming (Pty) Ltd has been granted permission to operate 100 sites across the country, while Goldrush Slots Botswana (Pty) Ltd has also received a licence for 100 sites nationwide.

In addition, several Independent Operator Licences have been awarded. 

Mossview Consultancy (Pty) Ltd is authorized to operate one site in Ramotswa. 

SNB Investments (Botswana) (Pty) Ltd has been granted a licence for one site in Gaborone. 

Slotluck (Pty) Ltd can operate five sites, with one located in Mogoditshane and four in Gaborone. Lastly, Time Flys Ville (Pty) Ltd has received a licence for three sites, including one in Gaborone, one in Letlhakane, and one in Palapye.

The Botswana Gambling Authority regulates the gambling industry in Botswana by issuing licenses for various gaming activities and ensuring compliance with legislation. It promotes responsible gaming, educates the public about gambling addiction, and allocates collected levies to support youth, arts, culture, sports, and charitable projects.
