Betway partners with PSL to promote responsible gambling in South Africa
Betway, the title sponsor of the Betway Premiership, has partnered with the Premier Soccer League (PSL) to promote responsible gambling in recognition of National Responsible Gambling Month. The initiative was announced during a media briefing on November 6 at the PSL headquarters in Johannesburg, attended by PSL Chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza and Betway CEO Laurence Michel, along with Sibongile Simelane-Quntana from the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF).
During the event, leaders urged fans to engage in sports betting responsibly. Michel emphasized Betway's commitment to educating customers about responsible gambling practices throughout November and beyond. This month-long initiative allows both organizations to amplify their responsible betting message across various platforms.
Simelane-Quntana highlighted the importance of prioritizing the well-being of gamblers and their families. She noted that collaboration during National Responsible Gambling Month aims to raise awareness about problem gambling and available support services. Betway will actively engage with fans during November's fixtures, utilizing brand ambassadors to promote responsible gambling.
This effort aligns with Betway's recent recognition at the SARGF's gala dinner for its effective messaging and marketing campaign on responsible gambling.
