Betclic boosts road safety in Benin with 500 helmet donation

Betclic, the leading sports betting company, made a significant contribution on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, by distributing 500 helmets to motorcycle taxi drivers, known as zémidjans, at the Bicentenaire Square in Cotonou in Benin.

The event was attended by Iris Boco, the Chief of the 7th arrondissement representing the mayor, along with various local leaders and enthusiastic motorcycle drivers. This initiative aims to support government efforts in road safety by promoting helmet use among taxi-motorcycle drivers and raising public awareness about its importance in reducing accidents.

Grégory Louis-Louisy, Betclic's Director of Operations for Africa, emphasized the company's commitment to responsible gaming and community support, stating that safety should always take precedence over entertainment. The donation was well-received by local officials, with Boco highlighting that proper helmet usage can significantly lower the risk of severe injuries in accidents. She urged recipients to use the helmets wisely and foster a culture of road safety.

The distribution of helmets is just the beginning for Betclic, which plans to continue its support with future donations and initiatives aimed at improving working conditions for zémidjans. This effort aligns with Betclic's broader mission to promote responsible gaming while contributing positively to community safety and well-being.

Betclic is a French online gambling company founded in 2005, specializing in sports betting, online poker, and casino games. It operates in multiple countries and is recognized as a leader in the industry, committed to promoting responsible gaming and supporting various social initiatives.
