Benin hosts major lottery gathering for Tranche Commune Entente

The 29th edition of the Tranche Commune Entente (TCE) officially commenced on January 14, 2025, at the Sofitel Hotel in Cotonou, Benin. The event began with the opening ceremony of the meeting of directors-general of national lotteries, marking the start of festivities for the TCE Benin 2024.

The event will culminate with the official draw on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Palais des Congrès in Cotonou. Directors-general from Benin, the host country, as well as Burkina Faso, Niger, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Togo, are attending. The opening ceremony, featured notable figures from the gambling sector, including Gaston Zossou, Chairman and CEO of Benin’s National Lottery.

The Deputy Executive Secretary of the Conseil de l’Entente expressed gratitude to President Patrice Talon and his government for their warm reception of the delegations. She emphasized Benin’s crucial role as host in fostering regional cooperation in the lottery sector. 

This year’s edition highlights an increased collective funding commitment, reflecting the member countries’ dedication to ambitious regional initiatives. 

As part of the festivities, the TCE product fair was inaugurated on the evening of January 14 at the Esplanade of Place de l’Amazone. 

The activities will continue until the grand draw on Friday, January 17, at the Palais des Congrès. This landmark event aims to unite stakeholders, partners, and participants in advancing the development and promotion of national lotteries across West Africa.
