BCLB and AGOK launch campaign to promote responsible gambling in Kenya
The Betting Control and Licensing Board of Kenya (BCLB), in partnership with the Association of Gaming Operators Kenya (AGOK), unveiled a new national awareness campaign today aimed at educating the public about responsible gambling practices.
The initiative was officially launched at the Retirement Training Institute (RTI) in South B, as reported by KBC. According to BCLB Chairperson Jane Mwikali, the six-month campaign will focus on promoting ethical gambling behaviors and helping individuals make informed choices.
This campaign follows BCLB's recent ban on gambling advertisements in media outlets, signaling a more comprehensive approach to gambling regulation in the country. The primary objective of "Take Control" is to emphasize responsible gambling while raising awareness about potential risks associated with gambling activities.
The initiative represents a collaborative effort between regulators and industry stakeholders to establish healthier gambling practices throughout Kenya.
