Bang Casino in Uganda closes operations
The Uganda National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board has announced the immediate closure of Bang Casino, operated by Rubine Box Uganda Limited. The public notice was published on May 23, 2024. The regulator said Bang Casino will no longer operate in the country. This move affects all players with casino accounts and they are advised to withdraw their funds as soon as possible.
The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board in Uganda has issued a total of 60 licenses to various gambling operators. These licences are divided into the following types: General betting operating licence, Casino operating licence, Gambling software operating licence, Gaming or betting machines general operating licence, Gaming or betting machines technical operating licence, and National Lottery operating Licence.
The licenses are divided among online and land-based operators, with 24 licenses issued for online mode and 15 for land-based mode. The remaining licenses are mixed.
Some notable licensees include Bwinbet, BetPawa, Premier Bet, Admiral Bet, Sahara Games, and Ithuba, which holds a license for the National Lottery.
