Aurora Gaming win FISSURE Universe: Episode 8 after 3 2 grand final thriller against Team Spirit
Aurora’s breakthrough title came in a five-map final on 1 February, closing a $250,000 online Dota 2 event that ran from 29 January to 1 February 2026.
FISSURE Universe: Episode 8 wrapped up on 1 February 2026, with Aurora Gaming defeating Team Spirit 3–2 in the best-of-five grand final to claim the trophy and the top prize.
The tournament was played online and carried a $250,000 prize pool, with the main playoff phase running 29 January–1 February in a double-elimination bracket format (Bo3 matches, Bo5 grand final).
Aurora’s win was also a milestone moment for the organisation: it was described as their first-ever Dota 2 trophy, achieved while playing with a stand-in midlaner Artem “Lorenof” Melnick after Mikoto stepped away to handle visa matters ahead of upcoming LAN events.
Final placements and prize distribution at FISSURE Universe: Episode 8 were led by Aurora ($125,000), followed by Team Spirit ($60,000), Team Yandex (3rd, $30,000) and Team Liquid (4th, $15,000), with MOUZ and BetBoom Team sharing 5th–6th.
For Aurora, the title is a strong early-season signal that the roster can convert deep runs into championships—especially against elite opposition—while Team Spirit’s runner-up finish keeps them firmly in the conversation heading into the next major events.
