Iñaki Williams Arthuer, the talented forward for La Liga club Athletic Bilbao and the Ghana national team, has clinched the prestigious title of La Liga EA Sports African MVP for the 2023/2024 season. Williams secured this accolade with an impressive tally of 46 points, representing 24% of the votes, showcasing exceptional skill and unwavering dedication throughout the season.

Following closely behind Williams were Moroccan international Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid with 37 points and Youssef En-Nesyri of Sevilla FC with 30 points. The voting process, overseen by a jury consisting of African journalists from 31 countries and fan votes, allocated points to players based on their performance. Points were awarded on a scale of one for the third-best player, two for the second-best, and three for the best player. In cases of a tie, the player with more selections as the best player emerged victorious.

Upon receiving the award from Athletic Club legend Andoni Goikoetxea, Williams expressed gratitude, stating, "It is an honor to represent all African players in LaLiga. My roots in Ghana are as deep as my love for Bilbao and Athletic Club. I hope to be in contention for this same award next season." Williams' standout performance this season included 12 goals and 3 assists, crucial in securing Athletic Club's spot in the upcoming Europa League.

With one game remaining in the season, Williams is determined to match his best La Liga tally by scoring one more goal when Athletic Club faces Rayo Vallecano.
