African Lottery Association holds first executive committee meeting in Dakar
On May 10, the first Executive Committee of the Association of Lotteries of Africa (ALA) began its work in the Senegalese capital, Dakar.
The session under the chairmanship of Mr. Dramane Coulibaly, ALA President, was the first after his re-election to the post at the General Assembly session held on March 8, 2024 in Morocco.
In his speech, Mr. Dramane Coulibaly expressed his gratitude to Senegalese National Lottery (LONASE) and the Senegalese government for organizing the meeting, noting that the choice of Senegal as the venue was not fortuitous. In less than a year of operation, LONASE has generated a profit of 18 billion CFA francs.
Over the course of the two-day meeting, committee members will address several important aspects of the association's activities, including the reform of the association's by-laws and internal regulations, with the aim of strengthening ties with partners.
ALA currently comprises lottery operators from Congo, Benin, Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Niger, Senegal, Togo, Morocco, Liberia, Ghana, Madagascar, Mali and DR Congo.
