Angola's Gaming Supervision Institute reports 83.8% growth in tax revenues for 2024
The Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ) has published the Quick Information Bulletin on the Gaming Sector (FIRJ), which provides statistical and fiscal data for the second quarter of 2024.
According to the report, the sector showed positive performance, directly contributing to national treasury revenues totaling Kz 4,088,416,074.00 (four billion, eighty-eight million, four hundred sixteen thousand, seventy-four Kwanzas). The type of games that contributed the most was sports betting (both territorial and online).
Compared to the same period in 2023, the collection of the Gaming Special Tax (IEJ) saw the highest growth, increasing by Kz 1,864,563,608.13 (one billion, eight hundred sixty-four million, five hundred sixty-three thousand, six hundred eight Kwanzas and thirteen cents), representing an 83.8% rise.
By the end of the second quarter, the gaming sector had cumulatively contributed Kz 8,317,170,442.00 (eight billion, three hundred seventeen million, one hundred seventy thousand, four hundred forty-two Kwanzas) to the national treasury, through the payment of the Special Gaming Tax and administrative service fees.
The Gaming Supervision Institute, overseen by the Ministry of Finance, is the specialized body responsible for supporting the government in defining policies related to the gaming industry.
