Altenar Powers Wildz Group’s Entry into Finland’s Regulated Betting Market

Leading sportsbook provider Altenar is powering Wildz Group’s entry into Finland’s newly-regulated online gambling market.

Wildz Group, a Malta-based iGaming operator, has become the first operator to publicly announce that it has received an online gambling licence in Finland. The licence will grant the company permission to operate when the country’s regulated market opens next year.

Altenar has been in partnership with the Wildz Group since 2024, supporting the company’s expansion beyond a casino-first model across the markets.

The move into the Finnish market continues the success of the collaboration, with Altenar’s regional expertise, Nordic trading specialists and localised content underpinning the operator’s growth strategy.

Wildz Group CEO Sam Brown said of the collaboration, “Altenar has been central to the success of our Global sports betting offering, and we anticipate a superb response in Finland once the market opens in July 2027. With the flexibility of the Altenar toolkit we will be able to build an industry-leading sports betting experience for Finnish players”.

Dinos Stranomitis, COO at Altenar, said:

“Finland’s move towards a competitive online gambling market represents an important development for the industry. Entering a new regulated market requires the right technology, flexibility and a clear understanding of local requirements.

“We are pleased to power Wildz Group’s entry into Finland and support its ambitions with sportsbook technology designed to adapt to different market conditions and business objectives.”

Finland is among the latest European countries to replace a state monopoly with a licensing model for online gambling. The application process opened on 1 March 2026, attracting significant interest from operators ahead of the planned market launch.

For Altenar, the partnership reflects its focus on providing sportsbook technology that enables operators to enter regulated markets with the flexibility to adapt their offering to local requirements and long-term business goals.
