AG.AL snatch EWC Club Championship from Falcons after dramatic Trackmania finale

AG.AL International have won the 2026 Esports World Cup Club Championship with 5,300 points, denying Team Falcons a third consecutive overall title after Gwendal “Gwen” Duparc delivered a decisive victory in the final Trackmania tournament.

AG.AL International have been crowned Esports World Cup 2026 Club Champions after a dramatic final weekend in Paris. The organisation finished the seven-week competition with 5,300 Club Championship points, beating two-time defending champions Team Falcons, who ended on 4,600. Team Vitality completed the top three with 3,300 points.

The championship remained undecided until the inaugural EWC Trackmania tournament on August 22. Falcons entered its playoffs in position to retain the overall lead, but their representative, multiple-time Trackmania world champion Carl-Antoni “Carl Jr.” Cloutier, was eliminated in the quarter-finals. That result created an opportunity for AG.AL to overtake the Saudi organisation in the final stages of the World Cup.

AG.AL’s Gwendal “Gwen” Duparc needed to finish at least third to secure the Club Championship. Instead, the French player won the tournament outright in front of his home crowd, becoming the first EWC Trackmania champion. The victory gave AG.AL another 1,000 Club Championship points, taking its final total to 5,300, while Gwen collected $130,000 for the individual Trackmania title.

Trackmania provided the decisive moment, but AG.AL’s overall championship was built across several disciplines. The organisation also earned a first-place finish in TEKKEN 8, while recording runner-up results in Free Fire, Honor of Kings and Chess, as well as a third-place result in Teamfight Tactics. That consistency kept AG.AL within striking distance of Falcons throughout the competition.

The final standings left AG.AL first on 5,300 points, Falcons second on 4,600 and Vitality third on 3,300. Natus Vincere followed with 2,950, while Team Liquid finished on 2,700. AG.AL received $7 million for winning the Club Championship, with Falcons earning $5 million for second place.

For Falcons, the result ended an attempt to complete a historic three-peat. The organisation had won the Club Championship in each of the previous two editions and again remained in contention until the final weekend. Carl Jr.’s early Trackmania exit, followed by Gwen’s victory, ultimately reversed the standings at the last major opportunity to score points.

AG.AL’s victory underlines the distinctive format of the EWC Club Championship, which rewards organisations for results across multiple esports rather than success in a single discipline. The Chinese organisation did not dominate every tournament, but its combination of two event victories and repeated podium finishes proved enough to defeat Falcons over the full seven-week campaign. With the championship decided by Trackmania at the very end, the 2026 title race produced one of the closest finishes in the competition’s short history.
