Africa’s gaming regulators gear up for the 16th Annual Gaming Regulators Africa Forum (GRAF 2025) in North-West Province, South Africa

From 17–20 November 2025, the 16th edition of GRAF will convene at the Sun City Resort in South Africa’s North-West Province under the banner “Strengthening Gambling Regulation in Africa: A Collaborative Action Against Illegal Gambling and Promotion of Responsible Play in a Tech-Driven Era”.

Regulatory officials, industry stakeholders and government representatives from across Africa are preparing to meet in Sun City to tackle pressing issues such as cross-border licensing, digital sports betting oversight, anti-money-laundering measures and the ethical marketing of gambling products. The forum is hosted this year by the North West Gambling Board (NWGB).

Organisers report that the conference programme includes keynote sessions on The Economics of Regulation, Leveraging Centralised Monitoring Systems, Artificial Intelligence in iGaming, Harmonising Licensing Across African Markets and Responsible Gambling in the Digital Age.

The North-West Province plays a strategic role in the regulation of casinos and sports betting in South Africa — home to licensed venues such as Sun City — making it a fitting host for a pan-African regulatory event.

For operators, affiliates and regulatory partners active in Africa’s gambling market, GRAF 2025 presents a key opportunity to engage with evolving policy frameworks, explore partnerships and understand how enforcement, taxation and market access are likely to shift in the coming years.
