Africa Gaming Expo 2025 kicks off in Lagos with focus on AI and fintech innovation
The Africa Gaming Expo (AGE) Lagos 2025 officially began at the Eko Convention Centre in Nigeria, uniting industry leaders, regulators, and innovators under the theme "Transforming Africa’s Gaming & Fintech Market with AI." The event commenced with registration and networking drinks at Eko Hotels & Suites, offering a serene backdrop of Lagos waters for delegates to connect and engage.
Day One featured a welcome address by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who highlighted the importance of the gaming and fintech sectors in Nigeria and Africa’s economic growth. A keynote speech by MTN Nigeria’s Chief Digital Officer, A’isha Umar Mumuni, explored the transformative role of AI in gaming and fintech. Panel discussions delved into critical topics such as taxation, fraud prevention, regulatory efficiency, women in gaming, and payment solutions.
Day Two of #AGE2025 was equally dynamic, with panel sessions, expert presentations, and live demonstrations showcasing the latest innovations in AI-driven gaming and fintech. Discussions focused on Francophone markets, responsible gaming, esports growth, sports betting, monopolies, and ethical marketing, providing valuable insights for industry stakeholders in Nigeria and beyond.
A highlight of Day Two was the AGE Lottery Draw, which added an element of excitement to the expo. Attendees also enjoyed hands-on experiences and networking opportunities, fostering collaboration and idea-sharing among participants.
