A new record for online sports betting revenue is set in New York in January 2024
In January 2024, the gross gambling revenue of eight operators operating in the US state of New York was $211.5 million. This follows from the report of the Gambling Commission, published the day before on the website of the regulator.
As noted in the document, the income has become a record since the start of the launch of online betting. The previous record of $ 188.3 million was set in November this year. When compared to January 2023, online betting revenue grew by 41.6 per cent.
Online betting for the first month of 2024 totalled US$1.96 billion, which was lower than the US$2 billion figure for the first time in the last four months. Meanwhile, when compared to January 2023, online betting volume grew by 8.5 per cent.
The market leader was operator FanDuel, with $109.2 million in revenue on a turnover of $867.1 million. In second place was DraftKings with revenue of $71.0 million on a turnover of $664.8 million. Caesars rounds out the top three. The revenue of this operator was $13.6 million, and the turnover was $198.0 million.
