The announcement was made via the company’s official LinkedIn account on November 29. This launch marks an important milestone for 888Africa, which was established in March 2022 as a joint venture to operate 888 Holdings' betting and gaming brands in select regulated markets across Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, and Zambia.

In Malawi, betting activities are regulated by the National Lotteries Board (NLB) and the Malawi Gaming Board (MGB), which oversee licensing and compliance under the Gaming Act of 1996 and the National Lotteries Act of 2002. As of recent updates, multiple licenses have been issued to both local and international betting operators in the country.
