The $1.58 billion jackpot was drawn last Tuesday in the Mega Millions lottery after 31 draws in a row without a top prize. The winning numbers are 13, 19, 20, 32 and 33, and the golden Mega Ball is 14. The winner of the winning ticket is still unknown.
Under lottery rules, the $1.58 billion can be paid out in equal installments over 29 years. If the winner wants to receive the prize immediately, he will be entitled to a one-time payment of $783.3 million.
The jackpot was the third largest in the history of lotteries in the Mega Millions lottery. The world record for the largest lottery win was set on November 8, 2022. A Powerball lottery ticket sold in Altadena, California won $2.04 billion.
The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350. The Mega Millions lottery is played in 45 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $2.
