China lottery sales increased 56% in July 2023

In July 2023, Chinese residents bought 48.9 billion yuan ($6.72 billion) worth of lottery tickets. This follows from data published recently by the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China.
Compared to the same period in 2022, sales increased by 55.9%.
Sales of lottery tickets supporting the sports industry rose to 31.0 billion yuan, an increase of 64%.
Sales of lottery tickets to support China's social security system reached 17.9 billion yuan.
Sales of lotteries in the seven months of this year amounted to 322.8 billion yuan, up 51.2% year-on-year.
