In Kenya court orders Betika to pay Sh500,000 jackpot prize
In Kenya, Betika, a betting company, lost an appeal challenging a court order to pay its client Ksh500k for a winning jackpot bet. This was reported on social networks.
In February 2024, David Juma and his brother placed a Sh10 bet on the 8-game sababisha Betika jackpot.
Despite predicting all match outcomes correctly, Betika claimed one match was incorrectly predicted.
David took the matter to court to compel Betika to honor the win. The small claims court ruled in David's favor on August 16.
Betika appealed the decision but was unsuccessful in overturning it.
