New NLA Board Chair promises reforms and revenue boost for Liberia's economy

The newly appointed Board Chairman of the National Lottery Authority of Liberia (NLA), Hon. Prince Menkalo Gbieu, has emphasized the need for significant reforms and increased revenue generation to support the national budget. 

As the press service of the gambling regulator reported on May 1, in his inaugural address, Hon. Gbieu highlighted the importance of the gaming industry in contributing to national economies and human capacity developments, citing the success of lotteries worldwide in establishing strong revenue bases.

Under the ARREST Agenda of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, the NLA Board of Directors will work closely with management to institute policy mechanisms for effective monitoring of contents and minimizing potential harms in the industry. This move aims to encourage strong competitions amongst operators and investors to expand revenue generation and adequately support the Government of Liberia

The gaming industry in Liberia is set to undergo structural, technological, behavioral, and economic shifts to effect policy significance for massive reforms and advancements. Hon.
